Scoping reviews are a specific type of review that try to identify and map out the available evidence on a specific topic, field, concept, etc. They can be used to clarify concepts, identify gaps in the literature, and identify all of the characteristics related to a topic. Although scoping reviews have been around for a while, they are still new to many people. This video from JBI provides a quick overview of the scoping review process.
