Scoping reviews are a specific type of review that try to identify and map out the available evidence on a specific topic, field, concept, etc. They can be used to clarify concepts, identify gaps in the literature, and identify all of the characteristics related to a topic. Although scoping reviews have been around for a while, they are still new to many people. This video from JBI provides a quick overview of the scoping review process.
Here’s a handy PDF that includes all the info found in the video so that you can refer to it later. If you have more questions about scoping reviews, or would like help with starting your own scoping review, please contact Gary Atwood ([email protected]) for more information.
