Congratulations to Dana Library’s Main Desk staff Christopher Nagorniak, Emma Parks and Jack Roberts who were all reclassified/promoted to Library Support Senior at the beginning of October 2022! 

Libraries are continually transforming to meet the needs of library users and these promotions reflect the added responsibilities and learning that Main Desk staff have taken on to meet those needs. Gone are the days when library staff mostly checked out books and reshelved materials. More library work is going online, from copy cataloging books to training student workers using Blackboard and maintaining seat census data to plan library hours and seating, just to name a few. Since Dana’s Main Desk is a combined Circulation and Reference desk, our staff troubleshoot technical issues library users encounter and provide point-of-contact and first-tier reference services. Their energy and enthusiasm help keep the library open and running every day!  Good job and well deserved Chris, Emma & Jack!
