Our hearts go out to all who have been affected by the flooding across Vermont in recent weeks. In the library community, we are pulling together to support the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier that experienced extensive damage. Donate.
In celebration of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, Dana Health Sciences Library is showcasing some of its collection of LGBTQIA+ Graphic Medicine novels. Described as “the intersection between the medium of comics and the discourse of healthcare”, graphic medicine is a way of tackling topics in a relatable way and communicating perspectives and stories that may not otherwise be shared. Come by the library and check out our display!
The UVM Libraries has recently purchased the Wiley Digital Archives: Environmental Science and History database. This primary source archive contains a variety of materials such as documents, records, images, data sets, range and distribution maps, photographs, and slides (including insect, fungus, and botanical specimen slides) spanning from the 1790s-2000s. We are excited to bring this resource to UVM! Read more about this resource here.
UVM Libraries will offer Statistical Software Support and Consulting workshops in June, July and August. Join us for Random Chats About Data - Workshops that will help you build your research data skill set. Register online.
Exam week is the library’s busiest time of year. The library will offer some exam de-stress options again this year to help ease the burden.
As of May 5, UVM's BioRender subscription no longer covers undergraduate students. All undergraduate accounts are being converted to the BioRender free plan.
Illustrations created under the previous subscription will still be accessible, up to the plan limit of 5. If you have additional illustrations, your less recently used ones will be put on hold until you remove some to get under the plan limit.
April 17 – 21 is Research Week at UVM! UVM Libraries will have a table at the upcoming Research Resource Fair on April 18th, 1 – 5 pm, in the Davis Center Grand Maple Ballroom.
April 3-7 is Graduate & Professional Student Appreciation Week! Stop by Dana on Thursday, 10 - 2 pm, for treats, giveaways and to learn about our services. We offer many services of particular interest to graduate and professional students year-round.
Dana now subscribes to the Case Files® Collection of e-books which includes 23 titles covering basic sciences, clinical rotations, and post-graduate topics. These books support coursework, clinical rotations, and exam study. Each book contains dozens of interactive clinical cases.
